Water Baptism

In the Bible, Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19)

If you've just recently made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, congratulations! You've made the best decision you could ever make. But when we make big decisions, sometimes it can be difficult to know what to do next. Jesus' words make it very clear: after receiving Him, we are to be baptized.

What Is Baptism?

Baptism in water is an outward demonstration of what faith in Jesus Christ has done inwardly. It represents the death and burial of one's old live, and the beginning of a new life in Christ. It is a public confession of faith, and a public commitment to stick to it.

Water baptism symbolizes our death, burial and resurrection with Christ. It means identification with Christ.

"For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives." (Romans 6:4)
